Ingredients
  

1 cup Fresh lemon juice About 6–8 lemons
1 cup Granulated sugar For simple syrup
1 cup Water For dissolving sugar
4 cups Cold water For mixing lemonade
2 cups Ice cubes For serving
4 slices Lemon Optional garnish

Method
 

Step 1
  1. Roll the lemons on the counter to release more juice. Cut them in half and squeeze using a citrus juicer until you get about 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.

  1. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water. Heat on medium and stir until the sugar dissolves completely to make a simple syrup.

Notes

Use fresh lemons for the best flavor. Bottled lemon juice works in a pinch but the taste will not be as bright.
For a fizzy version, replace part of the water with sparkling water just before serving.
Store leftover lemonade in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and stir before serving.
