- Add room-temperature butter to a mixing bowl. Beat on medium-high speed for 5–7 minutes until pale and fluffy.

- Lower speed and add sifted powdered sugar gradually, one cup at a time. Mix well after each addition.

- Add vanilla extract, salt, and 1 tablespoon of milk or cream. Mix on low speed.

- Slowly add more liquid as needed until the frosting becomes smooth and spreadable.

- Mix on low speed for 1 minute to remove air bubbles and achieve a silky texture.

- Scrape the bowl and mix briefly. Buttercream is ready to use for frosting or piping.
